INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup uncooked Jasmine rice (or white rice).
3 cups milk - divided
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, whisked
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil in a saucepan; stir rice into boiling water. Simmer until rice puffs up.
Once cooked add 2 1/2 cups milk, sugar and salt.
Cook over medium heat until thick, about 15 minutes. Stir in remaining 1/2 cup milk, whisked egg and cook 2-3 minutes longer continue to stir.
Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla.
Notes
-Add toppings such as: cinnamon, chocolate chips, or nuts.
-Add in cocoa if you rather have chocolate rice pudding!
