INGREDIENTS: Pretzel-
5 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, for sprinkling - in the tube is best for this
2 packets of instant dry yeast
2 cup warm water
1/2 cup baking soda
Sea salt, for sprinkling
1 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Beer Cheese-
1 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2/3 cup beer (I recommend a wheat beer)
1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
InstructionsHI PHOTOS Pretzels:
1.Place the flour, salt, yeast, and warm water in the bowl of a stand mixer with the hook attachment and beat until combined. Knead the dough 5 minutes. 2. Sprinkle flour on the dough and cover. Rest for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 475°F. Line baking sheet with parchment.
4. Once dough has rested, uncover and divide it into sixteen pieces. Rest & uncover for 5 minutes.
5. Roll each piece into a thin rope. Twist each rope into a pretzel shape. If the dough starts to become dry, dip your fingers in warm water and contuine to roll the dough into a thin rope. 6. Boil 8 cups water in a large pot on high, add baking soda, and stir until dissolved. Dip each pretzel into the pot, and leave in their for 30 seconds. 7. Place pretzels on the parchment paper and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake pretzels for 8 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Remove from oven and immediately brush with butter, and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
Instructions
Beer Cheese:
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium. Add flour and whisk together until thick.
2. Once clumpy whisk in milk.Whisk in the remaining ingredients.
3. Remove the cheese dip from heat and pour into a serving dish. Sprinkle with extra cheese. Cheese will become thick and ready to eat!
4. Heat in the microwave before serving again.
Notes
- If you want them to be sweet and salty, add brown sugar &cinnamon and skip the parmesan!
- Use a cream cheese frosting for sweet and salty pretzel!
