Writer's picture: ChristianeChristiane

PREP TIME: 15 MINUTES

COOK TIME: 15- 20 MINUTES per pound (Reach internal temperature of 145 degrees - fresh & 130 - precooked)

RESTING TIME: 20 MINUTES

TOTAL TIME: Until internal temperature is 145 degrees - fresh & 130-precooked

SERVING: 18 (based on 12 pound ham)

INGREDIENTS: •Fully Cooked Spiral Sliced Ham •Water (Enough to pour into pan to come to a depth of about 1 inch) •1 cup orange juice (optional) •1 cup ginger ale (optional) GLAZE •1/2 cup maple bourbon syrup •1/2 cup honey •1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Remove ham from fridge one hour prior to cooking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Rinse roasting pan in hot water. This will allow for the ham to better acclimate to the warmth in the oven and not shock the meat. Place ham in roasting pan

  3. Pour water over ham, enough to come to a depth of about one inch at bottom of roasting pan

  4. Pour orange juice and ginger ale over ham, if desired

  5. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake.

  6. Ham will bake approximately 15-20 minutes per pound.

  7. In a small bowl, whisk maple bourbon syrup, honey and brown sugar.

  8. After 20 minutes in the oven, remove and baste ham with prepared glaze. Save a small amount of glaze to baste ham just prior to carving.

  9. Continue to bake ham, removing from oven and basting every 20 minutes

  10. Remove ham from oven when reaching internal temperature of 160 degrees

  11. Leave ham covered for 20 minutes, then baste ham with remaining glaze

  12. Carve and serve
