Chocolate Chip & Cream Cheese Danish

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cans of crescent rolls

  • 8oz package of cream cheese at room temp.

  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar, divided

  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon sour cream

  • Handful chocolate chips

  • Optional: assorted jams and preserves or pie filling (raspberry, cherry, strawberry, apricot, blueberry, lemon, etc) instead of chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Unroll crescent rolls and separate into rectangles of dough using two triangle to form a rectangle.

  3. Roll the rectangle into a rope. (If you want a large danish, connect two rectangles and make into a giant danish!)

  4. Spiral the rope around itself to form a loose circle.

  5. IN the middle of the crescent spirals with your thumb, and stretch to make a well for the filling.

  6. In a large mixing bowl, mix together cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract and sour cream.

  7. Add about a tablespoon of filling to each roll.

  8. Bake in oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.

  9. Cool for a few minutes, and serve while warm!
